SXSW 2025 to Host Historic Showcase of Resolution: A Cinephonic Rhapsody For The Soul

Resolution: A Cinephonic Rhapsody For The Soul will make history at SXSW 2025 as the festival’s first-ever physical dome theater experience, featured in the XR Experience Spotlight as part of the SXSW Film & TV Festival. Created by Cinephonic Studio—a new creative venture led by filmmaker Scott Berman and Tim DeLaughter, frontman of the acclaimed choral rock band The Polyphonic Spree—this heartfelt cinematic work reimagines Salvage Enterprise, the band’s 2023 album, into a powerful artistic experience.

To present Resolution in its intended format, a custom-built dome theater will be installed at SXSW, where the film will screen continuously throughout the day on March 9th, 10th, and 11th. Designed specifically for the immersive environment of dome theaters, Resolution expands on the album’s core themes of resilience, renewal, and hope, surrounding audiences with panoramic imagery that enhances its emotional weight. 

The concept for Resolution began with the debut of Salvage Enterprise, when Tim hosted outdoor listening events across the country, inviting fans to experience the album in full under the open sky. These gatherings celebrated the power of engaging with the record as a complete work. 

Resolution expands on this idea, transforming the album into a multimedia experience that deepens its emotional resonance and provides a moment of escape.Each track features a unique story and visual treatment that reflects its tone and message, inviting audiences to step inside the music to experience it on a whole new level. 

Berman, who previously collaborated with DeLaughter on visual productions for Tripping Daisy, directs the film with a focus on immersion and emotional depth. Created in collaboration with Oscar- and Emmy-winning artists, Resolution blends technological innovation with creative ingenuity, delivering a rare opportunity to experience music as a full-sensory, cinematic journey—a spectacle designed to be felt as much as it is seen and heard.

Beyond SXSW, the 43-minute film is currently screening at the Sky Theater Planetarium in Denton, TX, and opens at the newly renovated Omni Theater in Fort Worth, TX, on March 1st, 2025. Additional screenings are planned across the US, EU, and the UK.
